BIO:

Karen Forse is very passionate about her work and takes great pride in helping others regain their independence, improve their quality of life and helping them achieve the goals that are most meaningful to them.

 

She is a Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario in good standing, and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists.

 

Karen obtained a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2005. Her professional experience has focused extensively on providing assessment and rehabilitation services to clients who have complex orthopaedic injuries, acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, amputations, chronic pain and psychosocial impairments.

 

Her assessment experience includes catastrophic determination and situational assessments, comprehensive cognitive assessments, mobility assessments, worksite and ergonomic assessments, psycho-social assessments and in-home functional assessments. Karen’s treatment experience includes hospital discharge planning and coordination of care into the community, cognitive rehabilitation, prescription of mobility aids, designing and implementing return to work or school programs and return to activities of living program.

 

She is devoted to life-long learning and regularly attends conferences and courses to continuously enhance her knowledge base and keep up to date with evidence-based practices.

 

In her leisure time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, travelling and you can frequently find her at the rink watching her boys play hockey.
