Arvinder Gaya is passionate about helping people recover and thrive after traumatic and life changing events.
She is the CEO and Founder of PiOT Occupational Therapy Services (Personal Injury Occupational Therapy Inc.). Arvinder has more than 25 years of experience working as a Registered Occupational Therapist and is in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapy of Ontario. She is an occupational therapy graduate of the University of Toronto and a member of both the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
Arvinder has extensive experience in community-based rehabilitation with clients who have sustained traumatic and acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic pain and various orthopaedic injuries as well as mental health issues. Her clinical experience has been in both the public and private sectors. Arvinder has also been an expert witness in court as a treating occupational therapist.
Arvinder is the co-founder of Revive and Thrive Wellbeing Inc. She obtained her certification in Positive Psychology from the Flourishing Centre in New York City in 2018. Her experience treating clients who have sustained brain injuries lead her to co-develop and now lead the Learn to Thrive with Post-Concussion Syndrome Workshop Series.
Since 2001, Arvinder has occupied a variety of leadership and management roles. She has contributed to various research studies and co-published several papers and books in the field of occupational therapy and brain injury rehabilitation. She is co-author of the SAFER Home Assessment tool, which helps to evaluate home safety for adults and the elderly. She has also been involved in the education of occupational therapy students and has held a status appointment with the University of Toronto as well as facilitating student placements.
During her spare time, Arvinder teaches IntenSati and meditation classes to help people all around the globe to live healthier and empowered lives. Arvinder enjoys spending time with her family and friends travelling, hiking and canoeing.
