“My mother was struggling with mental illness. It had gotten to the point where she was not eating and was hallucinating. I didn’t know what to do. After doing some research online, I decided to contact PiOT and hired Arvinder Gaya, Occupational Therapist. She advocated for my mom by communicating with the hospital team and ensured that my mom was admitted and got the psychiatric treatment she needed. She helped to find appropriate housing that had support services that my mom needed. She worked with my mom’s doctor to facilitate referrals to a neuro psychiatrist and a case manager. My mom is now mentally healthy and well supported. I am so grateful to Arvinder for all her help and supporting me to get the right services for my mom.”
“At the age of 12, I was involved in a head-on collision caused by an intoxicated driver, in which I became a paraplegic…. I can’t stress enough how important it was to have an occupational therapist that was always advocating for my needs and being in my corner. From making my home accessible to advocating for accessibility within my high school, or from helping me become comfortable with the idea of driving to purchasing my first car, [PiOT] was an integral part of it all, not to mention the countless insurance forms and reports she would seamlessly handle. I would not be where I am today without PiOT.”
“It has been a great pleasure to know this team and have their help on my road to recovery. I couldn’t be where I am today without them. They truly are a part of my family and they treat me as I am a part of theirs.”
“As a case manager I can count on PiOT Occupational Therapists to provide a high level of service for my clients. I have worked with PiOT for a number of years and have continually had very positive experiences…. They are wonderful to work with; knowledgeable, caring and thorough when addressing the needs of clients. They communicate well and work collaboratively with other team members when setting goals and priorities with clients. Intervention is provided with cultural sensitivity, a non-judgmental approach, and compassion.”
