Benefits and Features

PiOT’s 5-Step Process for CAT Situational Assessment Referrals

The medical, legal and co-ordination requirements of any assessment can be time consuming and stressful for both you and your client. Here’s how our simplified process works:

  1. We complete a review of medical documents and a thorough report of the file.
  2. We submit an OCF 18 for the CAT Situational Assessment on the client’s behalf to the insurance company and include a GOSE when required.
  3. Our certified C-CAT occupational therapist evaluators create a tailored CAT situational assessment for your client and conduct the in-person evaluation.
  4. We provide you with a thorough report within four weeks of the CAT situational assessment date and discuss the findings.
  5. We assist you with referrals to the appropriate medical evaluators, or co-ordinate referrals with your preferred medical evaluators, to complete the OCF 19.

Does my client need a CAT Situational Assessment?

If your client has been injured in a motor vehicle accident, a CAT Situational Assessment:

Shows our certified C-CAT occupational therapist evaluators the full extent of your client’s diagnosed injuries and how their everyday life at home, work and in the community is impacted.

Gives an independent, qualitative appraisal of the severity of an injury for legal proceedings and helps determine if they qualify for additional compensation under the catastrophic designation.

Can be requested for someone who sustained brain injury impairment, mental and behavioural impairment, or whole person impairment.
